In the book of numbers in the Bible, what did Moses and Aaron do that was so wrong?

Well if I recall correctly God instructed Moses to speak to the rock so that water may flow out of it. But in his anger towards the people of Israel Moses struck the rock. Numbers 20:12 (NLT) But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ';Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!';


When people don't follow God's instructions exactly he tends to punish them for it or they lose an inheritance.


1 Samuel 15:1-23


15:22 (NLT) But Samuel replied, ';What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 15:23 (NLT) Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord he has rejected you as king.';
I don't remember which book these incidents are in, but one, Aaron was the one who made the golden calf oh and then he and his sister Marian came against the God apppointed leadership of Moses and so they both were punished, she by being given leperosy for a limited time, her own sin opened the door to that, GOD didn't smite her with it.





And Moses later on when God told him to just speak to the rock for it to bring forth water for the mumbling and complaining Children of Isreal, he struck the rock instead in unrighteous anger that the people should complain against God whom had supplied them all the way. So that cost him ever getting to go physically into the promised land as the rock was a type and shadow of Jesus in the OT and you don't mock or strike the mercy of God and Live.
The Prophecy of the command was that when The Precious Cornerstone is spoken to, Living Waters a Great and Wonderful cistern that waters the whole community or Empire or nation would spring forth. If my people humble themselves and pray, I will heal their land. Pray continually, be thankful, be filled with joy for this is God's Will. Those who do the Will can be eligible to enter the Kingdom of God is written that whatever one does they do for God. In all kinds of workers on the earth below and in the spiritual has God Shown His Glories, these things are just merely a shadow of what is to come. Do not grasp onto the shadow only to lose the substance. For what would it profit anyone to gain a few years of wealth on earth and lose eternity?
Since Moses and Aaron did wrong things can you be more specific as to what you are talking about?





Like Aaron built the golden calf that was wrong. And Moses smote the rock with his rod when God told him to speak to it... that was wrong
they refused to listen to god, in other words they had limited faith, adam and eve also fell that way, but mary when told she would become the mother of god had full faith
