How would one go about numbering the 5 carbons that are in pyran? Would you start with the carbon to the right of the oxygen at the top and number 1-5 clockwise?
But my research has come up with the bottom carbon being carbon 4. How does this work? Someone please help.Numbering carbons in pyran?
