there is no real reason they got erased. the only way this can be fixed is re enter them and then move your contacts to your phone.All my numbers on my sidekick ID got erased?! How can i restore them?
Do you have the sidekick plan? If so they will come back within 2 hours or you can get them off tmobile.com. If not then they are lost... make sure to save them to your sim.
