What are the little numbers next to the seconds on a stopwatch, milliseconds or centiseconds?

I mean a normal-sized 8, 5, 3, etc, and then a little 23, 45 , 97, etc.What are the little numbers next to the seconds on a stopwatch, milliseconds or centiseconds?
never called them that before, but when you use SI, their clearly centiseconds.What are the little numbers next to the seconds on a stopwatch, milliseconds or centiseconds?
Time is not measured in the decimal; thus you are refering to 100th of a second.
